# Update the statue of 'My Active Project Tasks' items

The **My Active Project Tasks** view allows users to review and update tasks assigned to them across projects. This view is particularly relevant for organisations that do not use timesheets or formal time tracking, providing a simple way to manage task progress and maintain visibility.

Tasks from external scheduling tools (e.g. Microsoft Project) may also appear in this view for visibility purposes.

## Important Notes

- This feature assumes the user has **access to the related project(s)**
- Tasks created directly in Altus can be **updated and maintained**
- Tasks originating from external schedules (e.g. Microsoft Project):
- - Are displayed for **visibility only**
    - Are **read-only** and cannot be edited in Altus
    - Must be updated in the source system
- Updates to **% Complete** should be aligned with the **Project Manager or schedule owner** to ensure consistency with the overall project plan

## Read-Only Tasks (External Schedules)

For tasks linked from external tools (e.g. Microsoft Project):

- The task can be viewed in Altus for context

- Updates must be made directly in the external scheduling tool

## Key Fields to Review

When updating a task, consider reviewing:

- **Status** – Reflects the current progress of the task
- **% Complete** – Indicates how much work has been completed
- **Project** – Confirms the associated project
- **Assigned To** – Ensures correct ownership
- **Dates (if available)** – Indicates expected timing

## How to Use This Feature

Use the My Active Project Tasks view to:

- Track and maintain **task progress** without timesheets
