# Use the Altus for Teams app

This app provides **native access to Altus directly from Microsoft Teams**.

## Open Altus in Microsoft Teams

When you launch Microsoft Teams, select **Altus** from the left navigation bar.

If Altus is not displayed there, select the **ellipsis (…)** to display additional apps, then open Altus.

> **Tip:**
> Pin Altus to the Teams navigation bar if you use the app regularly.

## Available Areas

Depending on licensing, security configuration, and your permissions, different areas may be displayed in the Altus app for Microsoft Teams.

These may include:

-   **Projects**
-   **Programs**
-   **Portfolios**
-   **Proposals**

The following applies:

- The available **tabs** depend on which Altus components are enabled and licensed for your organisation.
- Within each tab, you will only see items for which you have the required permissions.
- Available links and actions depend on the configuration of the individual Project and your access permissions.

* * *

## Use Project Links

Depending on the Project configuration, different icons may be displayed to provide quick access to connected areas, for example:

-   **Project Schedule**
-   **Altus**
-   **Microsoft Teams**
-   **SharePoint**

> **Tip:**
> The links displayed are context-aware. Not every Project will therefore display every available icon.
>
> For example, if a Project has not yet been associated with a **Microsoft 365 Group**, the related Teams and SharePoint links may not be available.
>
> If these components are configured later, the corresponding links may become available.

* * *

## Open the Project Schedule

The first icon opens the **schedule management tool** configured for the Project, where an appropriate link is available.

The tool used depends on the Project's Schedule configuration.

* * *

## Open the Project in Altus

The **Altus icon** opens the corresponding Project record in Altus.

From there, you can view and update non-schedule Project information, such as:

-   Risks
-   Issues
-   Deliverables
-   Decisions
-   Changes
-   Other Project information

The information and editing options available depend on your permissions.

* * *

## Open Microsoft Teams

If the Project is connected to an appropriate Microsoft 365 Group and Teams environment, the **Teams icon** takes you directly to the corresponding Project area in Microsoft Teams.

> **Important:**
> You need the appropriate permissions for the Microsoft 365 Group or Teams environment associated with the Project for the link to work.

* * *

## Open SharePoint

If an appropriate Microsoft 365 Group and SharePoint environment is available for the Project, the **SharePoint icon** takes you directly to the corresponding SharePoint area.

> **Important:**
> The SharePoint link is only available or usable where the relevant Microsoft 365 and SharePoint configuration has been established for the Project and you have the required permissions.

* * *

## Search, Group, and Sort

Use the **Search box** to quickly find items by name.

You can also:

- **Group** information using available columns
- **Sort** lists using available columns
- Narrow the displayed information to the items most relevant to you

The same basic list functionality is available across the different Altus tabs displayed to you in Microsoft Teams.

## Important Considerations

- The Altus areas displayed in Microsoft Teams depend on licensing, security configuration, and your permissions.
- Not every Project automatically has Microsoft Teams or SharePoint links.
- Teams and SharePoint functionality may depend on an appropriate **Microsoft 365 Group** being created or associated with the Project.
- Having access to an Altus Project record does not automatically mean you have access to every connected Microsoft 365 resource.
- The Schedule link displayed depends on the configuration of the individual Project.
