# Capture project lessons learned 

Anyone can capture a lesson learned at any time and other team members can review and update it to increase the value of each lesson learned.  Some lessons learned may be internal to the project and perhaps can be acted upon immediately, while others may be departmental or organisational and may not be acted upon until phase or project closure.  
 

To capture lessons learned:

**Create new lesson learned**

1.  Ensure you have the appropriate project open**.**  
     
2.  Click the **Lessons** tab.  
     
3.  Click **+New Lesson** Learned.  
     
4.  Fill in the **Name** field.  
      
    **Important:** It is mandatory and it should be clear and concise to help users identify the risk in screens, reports, and dashboards. Ensure that the **Assigned To** fields are never blank for efficient tracking and reporting.   
     
5.  Provide additional details in the remaining fields.  
     
6.  Click **Save and Close.**  
     

**Update lessons learned**

1.  Ensure you have the appropriate project open**.**  
     
2.  Click the **Lessons** tab.  
     
3.  Click on the **Lesson Learned** to be updated from the list.  
     
4.  Update any field, as required.  
     
5.  Click **Save & Close.**
