Update the statue of 'My Lessons' items
The My Lessons view allows users to review and update lessons they have created. Lessons capture key insights using structured fields to ensure learnings are clear, actionable, and reusable across projects.
Accessing My Lessons
- Navigate to Work
- Select Lessons
- Open the My Lessons Learned view
This view displays all lessons created by you.
Updating a Lesson
To update an existing lesson:
- Locate the lesson in the My Lessons Learned list
- Select the Lesson Name to open the record
- Review and update the relevant fields
- Select Save or Save & Close
Key Fields to Update
When updating a lesson, ensure the following fields are completed and maintained accurately:
- Observation
- Describes what was observed during the project
- Example: data issues, process gaps, communication challenges
- Recommendation
- Suggests what should be done differently in future
- Focus on preventative or improved approaches
- Lesson Learned
- Summarises the key takeaway or insight
- Should be concise and broadly applicable
- Action Taken
- Captures what was implemented in response
- Reflects how the issue was addressed in practice
- Category
- Classifies the lesson (e.g. Business Process, Technology, Stakeholder)
- Status
- Indicates whether the lesson is active or closed
How to Use This Feature
Use the My Lessons view to:
- Capture structured lessons learned from delivery experience
- Ensure insights are clearly documented and actionable
- Support continuous improvement across projects
- Enable reuse of learnings in future planning and execution
Tips
- Keep each section focused on its purpose (avoid mixing observation with recommendation)
- Write lessons so they are useful beyond a single project
- Close lessons once actions have been implemented and validated
